Never Enough Glamour

Some people may have heard my fascinating tale of the Mansfield Chair that I cant help but tell just about everyone I meet. 

I was looking at my special chair not long after I got it home and I thought it needed a little something MORE. (the fifties Hollywood glamour just wasnt enough.) I decided that it needed a pillow. I put on a lovely zebra pillow that my friend gave me and it looked good but I still wanted something MORE.

So I devised a design for a round cushion in pink silk. (Had to be pink! Jayne's favourite colour.) I got the silk from Omanan Fabrics in Oakville, an Indian import store on Kerr Street. (If youre in the area the owner is really nice and she has a fun treasure trove of cool fabrics and saris.) 

I found a lovely pink and gold remnant of silk and I got some gold trim. It's hard to see in the picture with all the glare from the gold thread, but the pink is actually the exact same shade as the chair's (original) pink upholstery. I think Jayne would approve. Dont you?

I have left the zebra pillow in place however because I kinda like the contrast of the fun crazy, yet casual zebra print and the super glammed-up silk cushion. When it comes to a Hollywood legend like Jayne Mansfield, I dont think there is such thing as too much glamour!
