Furniture Refurbishing

Entertaining In Doors.

Are you like me? I hate to look at electronic equipment. I didnt decorate my apartment to match with flashing lights and black and grey plastic. Maybe that was poor planning on my part, however the damage is done. It looks like crap in my elegantly eclectic domain. So what did I do to correct this problem? I did what everyone else does. I purchased a lovely armoire in which to conceal all the crap.

I love my armoire. There's only one problem. My television is inside it. I cant watch it unless I open the doors and then all the crap is exposed again for all the world to see. And to make matters worse, now I have to look at the boring innards of my armoire. Yeah, yeah, I know. I could close the doors when Im not watching TV, but who does that??? Not me. It ends up staying open 90% of the time.

There was only one solution that I could come up with. (No, stop watching TV is not an option.) Decorate the inside of the armoire! So I did.

I cut out pictures from a poster that I hadnt gotten around to framing. It happened to be Art Nouveau renderings of the four seasons by my fave Czech artist Alfonse Mucha. Then with spray adhesive I stuck them on. Uncharacteristically, I measured several times with razor sharp precision to get it just right.

Looking at it now I think it needs a frame. I will probably paint a gold frame around the panels. Until I do, the following picture is what it could look like.

Much better, I think. But the important thing is that now, even though I forget to close the doors, I can still see something pretty. Course, it doesnt make my stupid ugly TV any more attractive. Does anyone know if you can paint that plastic?

Stay tuned...
