Pottery - Mugs & Cups

Most of these mugs were made to be given away before I leave the US of A and return to the Great White North.

Raspberry Perfection
Perfection may be a strong word but when youve seen how this raspberry glaze can turn out when youre not careful, youll understand.

Retro Mugs!
I painted these with under-glaze and the irreplaceable assistance of pottery pal, Debbie. Orange and Leaf Green. So do I give them away as a pair or do I dare to separate them?

Pete's Mug  (spoken for)
Made with Pete's Green layered over Pete's Blue. Surprisingly, the "Blue" looks green and the "Green" looks blue, but I've never claimed to be a brilliant chemist.

Simple Jewellery Mug
I CRACKED IT! I cant believe I cracked such a superb example of mugginess. I dont deserve to be a potter.

Audrey Mug
It's elegant and simple and thin. Jewellery over brown clay.

A Thing of Beauty
This one looks way better in real life. It's Jewellery glaze under a thin layer of Pete's Green at the top. I hadnt intended to give this one away. It's worth real money! But now that Ive broken the one above, I may have to. So many friends, so few mugs.

The Stubby (gone)
It's not like it's big enough for a stubby of beer but it's short and stout and kinda homely, in a lazy-weekend-at-the-lake kinda way.

Raspberry Rim (spoken for)
This one is a little small and dainty but it's so comfortable to hold. The glazes are double dipped Raspberry over a Beige base. (Single dipped Raspberry over Beige creates the grey tones.)

The double dipped Jewellery glaze on this one is a little thick and ran at the bottom but it's still very functional.

Rainbow Mug
The Beige base and Jewellery at the top of this mug created a very subtle rainbow of colour. Quite pretty in a pistachio sort of way.

Mug in Blue (spoken for)
This guy is big and chunky in Periwinkle blue.

Manly Espresso Mug (gone)
I knew this cup had a purpose in life. Men need manly mugs for their fancy coffees too. Nutmeg glaze on brown clay.

Cloudy Mug
The light grey-blue of this mug was created with a Beige base and Blue Emu over the top.

Fat Mug
It's fat. There's no denying the shape of this mug. Not very comfy but will hold a fair bit of coffee. Regular Pete's Green glaze over brown clay.

Stained Glass (spoken for)
The Beige base of this mug caused the usually flat Pete's Green over top to become translucent and glassy. Too bad the mug is so small. It's very comfortable to hold. Espresso, anyone?

Bathroom Cup? (2004)
That's what it looks like to me. I guess this is the beginning of a "commercial" phase... I used a humble rubber band to make the sort of straight stripe. 3 1/2 inches tall.
(wheel thrown)

Tea, anyone? (2004)
This stylish cup and saucer duo are smashing in vibrant violet. And it's comfy in your hand too, pinky up or down.
(wheel thrown, hand built handle)

Hear ye! Hear ye! All hail the new mug. (2004)
This little puppy is lightweight, comfortable and purdy. Finally a mug I can show on my desk without embarrassment. Yeehaw.
