Vases Bowls    Plates Mugs Other

A new design that I think I need to make more of is this very functional stem holder. It's the same principle as a rose bowl that has the little holes built into it so you can separate the roses and keep them evenly spaced. However, in that design you are limited to using just that bowl. My stem holder is a piece on it's own and it can fit into almost any vase or bowl.

I made the holder by throwing one tall "tube" on the wheel and then sliced it into rings. I then attached them all together. A shallow bowl used as a form to set the rings on gave the finished product a concave shape.

My stem holder works great for these tulips.

The stem holder and the vase were both raku fired stoneware in a white crackle glaze.
